The bell is larger than you are and hangs rather precariously from a thin rope attached to the apex of the tower. Its clapper is bronzed and bears the inscription: "The Man of Shapes doth know my name". Looking inside a rusted bell, you discover nothing held within.
You hold in your hand the legendary Spear of Eleusis, fashioned by the Ancient Smiths of Alessandria half a millenia before your birth. Its shaft is of mellian wood and its tip adamantine. You tap your finger against the point and a speck of blood swells up under your skin. The weapon is in reasonably good repair.
You utter the musical name of the nymph "Calypso" and a flock of bats emerge from their dark hiding places in the rafters and flap about in front of you. You catch a winking of light from above.

A deep clanging tolls from the tower of Eleusis. You push the bell and a great gong sounds in the bell-tower, echoing within the stone walls. The sound shakes the rafters above and the top of your head is covered in dust. To your surprise a spear is also dislodged and falls onto the ground
