BLIM!

It's an adventure game. You know like those Steven Jackson Fighting Fantasy book type things.

Anyway here's

YOUR TASK:

Find out what has happened to the spook magazines in the following order:

  1. ATMOSPHERES ! A strange comic that has been missing for many many years. Likely leads: David Timmins' Garage - where most of the editing was done.
  2. SAC ! SpectrumAmstradCommodore. Yes! It's a computer magazine that has been missing almost as long (but not quite) as ATMOSPHERES. Likely leads: SacTowers - A place that doesn't exist!
  3. MACE ! A very spooky thing. Hasn't actually disappeared, but no one can find it! Likely leads: Derek Williams' Brain. Very dangerous place.

Your Bits
Roll a six sided die and add 6 to it. This is your SPLAT rating.

Roll another die and subtract it from the result above.

This is your OUCH! rating.

Your SPLAT should be really high.

Your OUCH! should be quite low

Fighty Type Bits

Your enemy has a SPLAT and a POW rating.

  1. Roll an eight sided die. Add your SPLAT to it.
  2. Roll an eight sided die. Add your enemy's SPLAT to it.
  3. If your rating is higher you have hit him and subtract one from his SPLAT
  4. If his is higher he has hurty you! Add his POW! to your OUCH!! If it is now over 50, then on a roll of 4,5 or 6 you lose a point from your SPLAT!
  5. If the baddy's SPLAT is now 0 (zero) then you have bished him in!
  6. Ditto for you!

ORF YOU GO!

AND DON'T CHEAT

The adventure game by Duncan that is based on actual events!

'Blim!' is a YS-ism, and the adventure is about computer fanzines; a link I hadn't noticed before. - Duncan
Actually, I now recall the little adventure games YS sometimes put in the page borders. They obviously 'inspired' BLIM! -Duncan
Wasn't that in the Batman Returns issue? -Derek
That's right! And there was another one, wasn't there? -Duncan
