Many people (eight) mistakenly believe that Jan Doyle is somehow affiliated with the Jan Doyle Band, and they'd be right.
To clarify: One Jan Doyle Band exists in the fictional world of Jan Doyle, both in non-fictional and fictional versions with Jan Doyle herself being affiliated and non-affiliated respectively, and a non-fictional Jan Doyle Band existing in real-life in which neither the fictional, real-life or non-fictional Jan Doyles are affiliated.

In 1987, the Jan Doyle Band were the last musical ensemble to perform in South Korea under the authoritarian Fifth Republic. Chun Doo-hwan demanded that they play their cover version of Garth Brook's Against the Grain as he left his office for the last time.

They have featured in their own role-playing game, called 'The The Jan Doyle Band RPG', in which the players play characters in a up-and-coming musical group. It was converted into a MMORPG in 2004.

The group often record in a sound booth of negative volume.

When the Large Hadron Collider opens at CERN later in 2008, The Jan Doyle Band will be taking part in an experiment. They will be performing live, firing their single "This Could Be The End" into a negatively-charged "The Millennium Prayer", performed by Cliff Richard.
It is hoped that new particles of music and anti-music will be detected.
