For many years, the biggest complaint for those interested in Ada Programming was that compilers/tools for it tended to be expensive. This was driven by many factors but the biggest is probably that the groups using it could afford 'enterprise' level tools (which is usually code words for expensive bloated tools that are not as good as cheap ones). There are now several fairly cheap offerings for Ada 95 and for several years Ada has been included in the default Free Software Foundation (FSF) distribution of gcc.
Most recent Linux distributions include gcc's Ada component in a full install so feel free to try it out.
